Dugan Arnett is a sportswriter covering University of Florida athletics for GatorCountry.com, an ESPN-affiliated website based in Gainesville, Fla. Prior to arriving in Gainesville, he spent two years covering University of Kansas athletics - along with a smattering of other things - for the Lawrence (Kan.) Journal-World, an 18,000-circulation daily newspaper nationally renowned for its work in multimedia. He has also served, at one time or another, as a sportswriter at the Charlotte (Fla.) Sun-Herald, a writing fellow at The Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Fla., and the lone male cashier at a popular Kansas City-area grocery store chain. A 2006 graduate of the University of Missouri, he specializes in off-beat, entertaining stories on the various sub-cultures within the sports world, having written (in-depth) about everything from a flatulent celebrity baby to a boastful state pull-ups champion.
